Cheshire Tourism Awards – Finalists!
The finalists have been announced for the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards 2022/23 with more than 50 businesses and individuals shortlisted across 16 categories .
The awards are all about giving hotels, attractions, pubs and more a chance to show why they are a must-visit and recognise the excellence and outstanding achievement by local businesses and individuals working in Cheshire and Warrington’s visitor economy.
There are 16 categories for the awards, including Visitor Attraction of the Year, Pub of the Year, Large Hotel of the Year and Unsung Hero, with the award ceremony and winners being announced being held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on 23 March 2023.
Calico Campers has been announced as a finalist in the New Tourism Business of the Year award category, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Our campervan hire business in Chester could win this incredible award!
New Tourism Business of the Year
After only being in operation for 18 months, we decided to go for it and enter ourselves into the prestigious Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards in the category of New Tourism Business of the Year. If we win (keep your fingers crossed for us!) we go on to represent Cheshire at a national level at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2023, something that for us, would be a mind-blowing honour to do.
But of course, we are facing stiff competition, as we will be up against new City-centre bar and restaurant, Artezzan.
Being announced as a finalist in the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards is such an achievement for us, as we have put our heart and soul into setting up Calico Campers in the immediate aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, whilst both working in our other full-time roles. But we have enjoyed every minute of the hard work, and of course we might be biased, but we think we really deserve to win!
Cheshire Tourism At Its Best
The Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards are the best way to showcase what fantastic tourism Cheshire offers. Calico Campers is proud to be based in Chester, Cheshire and over the last 18 months of business, we have welcomed tourists to Cheshire from places like Manchester, Preston, Doncaster, Scotland, Ireland, Wrexham, Flintshire, North Wales and Wigan, to name a few. Our happy campers have arrived in Chester and upon collection of either our 4-berth campervan for hire or our 2-berth campervan for hire, they’re encouraged to enjoy the wonderful activities, bars and restaurants and historical attractions Cheshire has to offer.
Nicola Said, Commercial Manager at Marketing Cheshire, said: “As always we’ve had a fantastic response to the awards and I want to thank everyone who took the time to enter.
“These awards are our chance to get together and celebrate all of the excellence in our visitor economy here in Cheshire and showcase what we have to offer.
“They also offer a chance for the winners to go on and shout about Cheshire at a national level at the VisitEngland Awards. Tourism and leisure is so important to our economy and these awards give us a chance to show just why so many people choose to come here.”
The Cheshire Tourism Awards Finalists
We want to congratulate each and every business that has been announced as a finalist in the 2022/23 Cheshire Tourism Awards, across all categories.
We will of course keep you, our #CalicoCommunity, posted in March 2023 with news as to whether we manage to win! Good luck to everyone!
