We had a fab week touring the NC500 and parts of Northumberland. Highly recommend Claire and Calico Campers, very friendly and professional. Such a great way to relax and escape and to explore such a beautiful part of the country.

I’ve never been one to go camping or ‘camper vanning’ before but I’m now fully converted! We got in touch with Calico Campers after hearing about them through a friend and what a recommendation it was! We took the smaller of the two vans to Edinburgh for the weekend from Chester. There was myself, my wife (7 months pregnant) and our dog Milo. My only real concern initially was the space in the back for all of us to sleep and be comfortable but that concern was quickly suppressed after our first night when we all slept like babies. There was plenty of room for all of us and the blackout blinds, really are black out blinds.

From our initial enquiry with Claire – one of the owners, to dropping the van back off after our trip, the service was faultless. The petrol tank was full when we picked it up and the van was spotless. We were shown where everything was and what/how to operate within the van and off we went.

Claire was kind enough to return our calls after we had an issue with the electricity, which ended up being the campsites issue in the end anyway, but she talked us through everything we needed to do – of course there was the detailed manual available in the bus so contacting Claire was our last resort but she was happy to help which was great.

Our trip to Edinburgh was amazing and made that extra bit better with Calico Campers, I can’t recommend them enough!

We have just returned from an amazing weekend away at Silverstone in ‘DANI’ the campervan. The van drives great, it’s clean and had everything we needed. Collection and return of the campervan was easy and flexible to times that suited myself. Calico Campers provide an excellent manual for all the items located with the van. Couldn’t recommend Calico Campers more and we will definitely be using again. Here’s to the next adventure.

We hired ‘ARCHIE’ for 5 days, our first trip in a campervan and really enjoyed the experience. Archie was fully equipped with all our needs and there was an opportunity to add equipment such as chairs and table for a small extra fee. The service and communication from Claire was excellent right from the start, especially the thorough handover of the vehicle. We will certainly be hiring again in the future.

Had a great time taking the four berth camper up to Scotland. Had everything we needed and they were really attentive and helpful with any questions we had during our trip.

Truly wonderful experience hiring with Calico Campers. The campervan Dani is well kitted out and was home to four of us during the April bank holiday. Easy pickup and drop off service. Would definitely use again and definitely recommend.

We have just come back from a few days away in Archie the 2 bed campervan. We went exploring the Peak District and stayed in a couple of different farm campsites. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend Calico Campers. We have been thinking about buying our own van for some time and hiring Archie gave us the chance to try out for real. The van is very well equipped and we found we had everything we needed. Hiring seems a very good option if you’re not sure how often you will get to use a van and unsure about the financial outlay. Claire and Mark were great to deal with. Looking forward to our next trip!
